Project Overview
Following the acquisition of MooonCrystals.com by Niels, it quickly became apparent that the Shopify platform lacked the desired flexibility to achieve the brand’s new vision. Niels sought greater control over the website and the ability to fully customize it to his own preferences.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was to migrate the existing Shopify store to WordPress while preserving all essential data, including product catalogs, customer information, and orders. Additionally, the new website needed to reflect the updated brand identity envisioned by Niels.
The Solution
In collaboration with Sanne-Lotte, who was responsible for the design, the decision was made to migrate the webshop to WordPress. This platform offers a high degree of freedom and flexibility, allowing the website to be fully customized.
As the freelance web designer, I took on the technical implementation of the migration. This involved:
- Transferring the product catalog, customer data, and orders from Shopify to WordPress.
- Implementing Sanne-Lotte’s new design in WordPress.
- Optimizing the website for search engines (SEO).
- Ensuring secure and stable hosting.
The Results
Thanks to the successful migration to WordPress, MoonCrystals.com now has a webshop that fully aligns with the wishes of the new owner. The website is more flexible, customizable, and optimized for search engines.
